FORDSVILLE, Ky. — On the 7th of June 2025, Ralph Franklin “Frank” Russell was released from the bonds of this earthy life to return home to our Heavenly Father. Frank was born on Jan. 26, 1959, in Daviess County, Kentucky, to Ralph and Ruby Jean Nabours Russell. He was a precious Russell grandson of Frank and Lizzie Ralph Russell of Ralph Settlement, Ohio County, Kentucky, and Leonard and Clara Mae Shown Nabours of Fordsville, Kentucky.
Frank is survived by a brother, John Daniel (Karen) Russell, and two sisters, Darlene Russell (Pat) Gibson and Judy E. Russell.
A retired autobody artist, Frank was noted for reviving a rusty shell of a vehicle to almost original condition. He was his own worst critic, as he sought perfection.
A graduate of Fordsville High School, Frank maintained many of his old school chums as friends throughout his adult life. Plus, Frank never met a stranger and he never forgot you once he came to make your acquaintance. He was mischievous, sometimes a prankster, who liked to make his friends laugh. He was well-mannered, kind, and generous. He will be missed.
Heartfelt thanks to the medical staff and volunteers at The Heartford House, Owensboro, Kentucky, for the vigilant care of our brother, Frank. Keeping him comfortable as he completed his life journey was done with caring concern and dignity. They are phenomenal.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Heartford House, Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY, 42301 or the Ralph Cemetery Fund c/o Darlene Gibson.
Visitation will be held at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, Kentucky, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, June 13. A private burial will be held at Ralph Cemetery at a later date.
