The Ability Center offers session for those raising children with disabilities

BEAVER DAM, Ky. — The Ability Center in Beaver Dam will offer Spark, a powerful conversation for those raising children with disabilities from 6-8p p.m. Thursday, June 19. The Ability Center is as 237 S. Main St. in Beaver Dam.

Spark is a free session for caregivers walking the road of disability. You’ll leave with insight, strategies and a renewed sense of hope.

What you can expect to hear during the session:

  • Siblings matter too: Validating and supporting the sibling experience
  • Plan with a purpose: Creative, realistic ways to prepare for the future
  • Avoid chaos: How to ensure your child’s behavior doesn’t run your home
  • Redefine success: Chase happiness, not traditional milestones
  • Knowledge is power: Making the education journey work for your child and your family.

Amanda Owen, Founder and Executive Director of Puzzle Pieces in Owensboro

The Spark series is presented by Amanda Owen, who is the executive director of Puzzle Pieces. Owen is a sibling, caregiver, former special education teacher turned service provider and lifelong advocate for those with disabilities and their families.
