Flood Watch issued for Ohio County

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Ohio County. The Flood Watch goes into effect at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, and is set to expire at 1 a.m. Wednesday, May 21. Ohio County is also under a Tornado Watch until 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 20.

According to the NWS, rounds of showers and thunderstorms containing torrential downpours are expected to impact the area Tuesday afternoon. Widespread 1 to 2 inches of rainfall is anticipated across the watch area. Some locally heavier amounts are possible. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
