McHENRY, Ky. — Alice Mae Allen, 93, died Tuesday, April 29, 2025, peacefully at her home in McHenry. She was born Aug. 8, 1931, to the late Sam and Ruby Stewart.

She was an antique collector and co-owner of the Allen Lumber Company with her late husband, Bud.

A woman of quick wit and incredible work ethic, she will be remembered as a generous supporter of her hometown of McHenry.

She was a faithful Christian and at the time of her passing, she was the oldest member of McHenry Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Allen; sisters, Wilma Jean Duke and Sue Brown; and grandson, Travis Jones.

She is survived by her four children, Wayne Allen, of McHenry, Regina Webster, of McHenry, Georgina Heuring (Curt), of Louisiana, and Becky Gaither (Todd), of McHenry; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by faithful friends and caregivers, Terri Ashburn, Dana Render, Ms. Sharon Taylor, Jennifer Shrewsbury, and Donetta Crawford.

Services will be Saturday, May 3, at 2 p.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, officiated by Bro. Brent Howard. Visitation will also be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral begins. Burial will be in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to McHenry Baptist Church or Render Memorial Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
