OWENSBORO, Ky. — Camiryia “Cami” Louise Edwards, a bright light in the lives of those who knew her, passed away on April 2, 2025, at the tender age of 14.

Born on July 27, 2010, in Paducah, Kentucky, Cami grew up surrounded by love and exhibited a spirit that was both kind and uplifting. Cami made her way through life with a notable resilience, embodying bravery that inspired everyone around her. She received the Joey Newton award upon her graduation from 5th grade, a celebration of her ability to overcome challenges with grace and fortitude.

Cami had an artist’s heart, often expressing herself through various hobbies such as making puppets and masks, creating art, and reveling in the world of music. She was particularly proud of her musical endeavors; Cami played the violin, was an active member of the choir at Owensboro Middle School and participated in the Harmonics.

In her leisure time, Cami found joy in riding horses, indulging in her favorite foods like mac and cheese and Oreos, and exploring the enchanting universe of anime. Her dreams were as expansive as her spirit; Cami had a clear aspiration to become a veterinarian, driven by her profound love for animals. Above all, she cherished making people smile, a testament to her loving nature and her ability to uplift others in any situation.

Cami is preceded in death by a grandmother, Rebecca Edwards.

Those left to cherish her memory include her parents, Benjamin and Sara Edwards; brother, Kameron Edwards; grandparents, Patricia Perry, Larry Edwards, and Patrick Perry (Kimberly); great grandmother, Helen Hendrix; uncles, Joe Edwards (Rita) and Ryan Perry (Amanda); cousins, Jacob Edwards and Drake Perry; as well as many beloved animals.

The funeral service for Cami will be 4 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home,
