**UPDATE** Flash Flood Warning extended for Ohio County

**UPDATE** LOUISVILLE, Ky. (4/4/25-9:50 a.m.)—The National Weather Service in Louisville has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Ohio County until 3 p.m. this afternoon. The original post has been updated to reflect the new expiration time.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Ohio County until 3 p.m. Thursday, April 4.

In addition to this Flash Flood Warning, Ohio County is currently under two Flood Warnings, one until 10:45 p.m. tonight, April 3, and the other until 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 8. Ohio County is also under a Flood Watch until 7 a.m. Sunday, April 6.

According to the NWS, at 8:24 a.m. CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. According to the Kentucky Mesonet, 6.76 inches of rain have fallen in Ohio County. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
