LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Ohio County ahead of the severe weather expected Wednesday. The Wind Advisory will go into effect at 7 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, and will expire at midnight Thursday, April 3.

Ohio County is also under a Flood Watch from 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, until 7 a.m. Sunday, April 6.

According to the NWS, south winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 45 to 50 mph are expected during the advisory period. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, and power outages may result.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles on east-west roads including Interstate 64. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.
