LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Flood Watch for Ohio County ahead of severe weather that threatens the area Wednesday and Thursday. The Flood Watch goes into effect at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, and expires at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 6.
According to the NWS, Excessive runoff is expected to flood rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings are likely to be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are also expected.
This is expected to be a high-end event with life-threatening flooding. Major flash flooding and river flooding will be possible. Be sure to hurry and complete any flooding preparation needed before this storm arrives.
