KSP Post 2, multiple agencies attempting to locate ‘armed and dangerous’ fugitive in Hopkins County

MORTONS GAP, Ky. — Kentucky State Police Post 2 received a call from the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance in locating a suspect who fled on foot from a collision.

Preliminary investigation reveals Jonathan Ray Ruby, 45, of White Plains, Kentucky, fled from the scene after a physical altercation when deputies arrived.

Ruby is described as a white male, 6’ 1”, 260 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing camouflage pants, a red shirt, and a black jacket.

Ruby is considered armed and dangerous. Ruby currently has multiple felony warrants, including for fleeing or evading police, trafficking in a controlled substance, and parole violations.

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the KSP, KSP Aircraft Branch, Madisonville Police Department, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Kentucky State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle.
