NEW SALISBURY, Ind. — William Arden Casteel, 83, of New Salisbury, passed away on March 5, 2025. He was born on April 9, 1941, in Echols, Kentucky, to Payton and Delcie (Daugherty) Casteel.

William was a dedicated Pipe Fitter Journeyman for the Local 502 Union, where he built a successful career that spanned many years.

On July 31, 1965, William married the love of his life, Sheila (Sikes) Casteel. Together, they made their home in New Salisbury, where they built a family and enjoyed a full life. William was passionate about his hobbies, which included golf, bowling, and following Kentucky Basketball.

He also found joy in caring for his pets and cherished the time spent with his loved ones.

William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sheila L. Casteel; his father, Payton Casteel; his mother, Delcie Mae Casteel; and his sister, Jean Cook.

He leaves behind to mourn his passing, his brother, James (Bonnie) Casteel; his sister, Sharon (Kenny) Autry; his brother, Bobby (Joyce) Casteel; his daughters, Mary (Steve) Trusty, Veda (Brad) Sears, Angela Langhorne, and Billie Jean (Rob) Conway; his grandchildren, Christopher Wright, Dylan Robbins, Donte Langhorne, and Alaina Langhorne; and his “fur daughters,” Kaytee and Maggie.

A cremation has been chosen, with a burial at Central Barren Cemetery to be announced at a later date.
