WHITESVILLE, Ky. — Mildred Eileen Edge Boarman, 95, of Whitesville, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family Monday, Feb. 17, 2025. She was born on Feb. 20, 1929, in Daviess County, Kentucky, to the late William Roscoe and Mary Ethel Clark Edge.
She was a lifetime member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, John O. “Bud” Boarman; her children, Sandra Gillim and Jeff Boarman; a grandchild, Christa Gillim; and her siblings, Orville, Cletus, Cecilia “Curly,” Fabian “Dude,” Barbara, and Danny.
Mildred is survived by her sons, Johnny Boarman, of Reynolds Station, Kentucky, Greg (Shaunte) Boarman, of Hartford, Kentucky, Bill (Elizabeth) Boarman, of Hartford, Mickey (Faye) Boarman, of Whitesville, Kentucky, David (Shannon) Boarman, of Philpot, Kentucky; her daughters, Jamie Ralph, Delilah (Byron) Higdon, Jackie (Ronnie) Ward, and Amanda Boarman, all of Whitesville, and Joetta (Steve) Johnson, of Hawesville, Kentucky; daughter-in-law, Cathy Boarman, of Utah; and 36 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and 17 great-great-grandchildren with three on the way, for a total of 133 direct descendants.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky or St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, with burial following at St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. with prayers at 6 p.m., at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville.
