BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Rava Ellen Lindsey, 104, of Beaver Dam, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, surrounded by her family at Ohio County Healthcare. She was born Wednesday, May 12, 1920, in McHenry, Kentucky, to the late Sidney Albert Moseley and Mary Susan “Molly” Southard Moseley.
Mrs. Lindsey was a retired dietician having worked for Ohio County Hospital and Beaver Dam Nursing Home. She was a lifelong member of Independence Baptist Church also attending school in the same building in the 1920’s and 1930’s. During this time, she was the elementary school spelling bee champion of Ohio County. She enjoyed singing at the Rosine Barn especially on Mother’s Day and excelled at challenging crossword puzzles.
Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Christopher B. “C.B.” Lindsey; three children, Betty Boone, Kaye Crowley, and Roger Lindsey; in-laws, P.J. Boone, Dewey Crowley, Cecil Allen Ellis, Jerry Simpson, Neal Ashley, Carrol Porter, Linda Dowell, Larry Southard, and Bill Burden; four grandsons, Randy Lindsey, Marty Daugherty, Rob Hayden, and Shawn Simpson; three great-grandchildren, Raven Waters and Kyle Lindsey, and Lance Boone; and seven siblings, Willard Moseley, Cordilla Parks, Beula Hillard, Cliffie Miller, Versie Baize, Leon Moseley, and Vernie Moseley.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three sons, Monty Lindsey, Jerry (Mary) Lindsey, and Terry Michael (Teresa) Lindsey; five daughters, Shirley Lindsey, Markeda Simpson, Sue Ellis, Rita (Rick) Luttrell, Brenda (Randy) Clark; one daughter-in-law, Betty Sue Lindsey; and 33 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren, 123 great-great grandchildren, and nine great-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at William L. Danks Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Frady and Rev. Terry Tarrence officiating. Burial will be in Rosine Cemetery in Rosine, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mrs. Lindsey’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
