LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Cold Weather Advisory for Ohio County and much of the state. The Cold Weather Advisory goes into effect at 1 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, and is set to expire at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22.
According to the NWS, very cold temperatures with wind chills in the single digits below zero are expected.
Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside. Dress in layers and limit time outside if possible.
