BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Wanda Lee Frizzell, 93, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, at Signature Healthcare of Hartford, Kentucky. She was born on Sept. 13, 1931, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Lee and Hallie Abney Frizzell.
Wanda was of the Baptist faith, and she worked as a first-grade teacher for 44 years at Fairmont Elementary in New Albany, Indiana.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Frizzell; one sister, Sherrill Coker; one sister-in-law, Sherry Frizzell; one nephew, Todd Frizzell; and a dear friend, Doris Monhollen.
She leaves behind to cherish many memories, her siblings, James (Gloria) Frizzell, of Beaver Dam, Roger Frizzell, of Beaver Dam, and Pamela (John) Reeves, of South Haven, Mississippi; her dear friend and neighbor, Charlotte Wilde, of New Albany; and dear friend, James Monhollen, of Louisville, Kentucky. Wanda was also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be held at a later date in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
