MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 2 snow and ice crews will continue to work throughout the night to clear snow away from roads throughout our 11-county region.
Winter Storm Cora blew into the district this morning, depositing varying amounts of snow across the region. Crews began pretreating A routes on Thursday in preparation for the event, then switched to plowing and treating with salt as dawn brought the snowfall this morning.
Transportation personnel will remain on duty across the district throughout the night and tomorrow morning to plow and spot-treat with salt as needed,
Motorists are urged to drive slowly and use caution. Even if roads seem clear, ice can form on the roadway as temperatures drop.
