HARTFORD, Ky. — Donald R. Shreve Sr., 68, of Hartford, passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at Heartford House in Owensboro, Kentucky. Donald was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois, to the late Raymond and Shirley Shreve.
He was a first mate on a river towboat for 28 years.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Shreve; brother, Johnny Shreve; and nephew, Michael Shreve.
He is survived by his sons, Donald (Krystle) Shreve Jr. and Harlan Shreve; grandchildren Madilyn, Mackenzie, Katarina, Dominick, Aerith, Atreus, and Ciel; brothers Jimmie, Gerald, and Dennis Shreve; and sisters Linda Willoughby and Michelle Shreve.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville, Kentucky, with Josh Calloway officiating. Burial will follow in Midkiff Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Monday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
