PHILPOT, Ky. – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carol Lee Sutherland, 50, of Philpot, on Dec. 23, 2024. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on Jan. 14, 1974. Carol was a vibrant spirit whose love for her family and passion for life left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Carol was a dedicated mother to her children, instilling in them the values of kindness, and resilience. Her love extended to her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories filled with laughter and warmth. Carol’s nurturing nature and unwavering support made her a beloved figure in their lives.

Known for her infectious energy and zest for life, Carol had a profound love for dancing. Her wild spirit and carefree attitude brought joy to many and inspired those around her to embrace life fully.

Carol will be remembered not only for her vivacious personality but also for the countless lives she touched throughout her journey. Friends and family alike will miss her laughter, warmth, and the way she made everyone feel special. Her legacy of love will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She is proceeded in death by her brother, Jamie Pickard; grandfather, James Prater; and grandson, Kaiden Ashby; along with many dear friends.

She is survived by her mother, Opal Hayes; brothers, John Roebke and David Hayes; sister, Martha Hayes; children, Chiania Ashby, Cassandra Brown, Jedidiah Sutherland, Austin Sutherland; stepson, James Sutherland Jr.; and many more she referred to as her kids; grandchildren, Abby, Gabby, Maddie, Jed, Harlen, Trinity, Gabby, Chevy, Caleb, Jericho, and Benjamin.

As we celebrate Carol’s life, let us remember the joy she brought into our lives and honor her memory by cherishing our loved ones just as she did.

Carol Sutherland will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. in her honor where friends and family can gather to share stories and celebrate her life with Bro. Mike Wilson officiating.
