GREENVILLE, Ky. — Carroll Gene Williams, 72, of Greenville, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, Dec. 9. 2024. He was born on Aug. 13, 1952, in Echols, Kentucky, to Mildred Christine King Jones and the late William Carroll Williams.
Carroll was a United States Army Veteran where he served two tours in Germany. He retired from the United Steelworkers Union Local 9443 where he worked as a mechanic, he also owned and operated his own quilt making business for many years in Greenville. Carroll was a member of Pond Run Baptist Church.
Aside from his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry David Williams; one uncle, Jim Williams; one aunt, Faye Baggarly; and one nephew, Stephen Allen Cook.
He leaves behind to cherish many memories, his son, Carroll Williams Jr., of Greenville; two daughters, Karen M. Williams, of Greenville, and Lindsay Williams, of Beaver Dam; his mother, Mildren Christine King Jones, of Beaver Dam; one sister, Joan Williams (Eddie) Cook, of Beaver Dam; one brother, Stevie Williams, of Echols; one nephew, Timothy Cook; and three grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Tim Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Pond Run Cemetery in Echols with military honors provided by The Ohio County PFC Wesley Phelps Memorial Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Carroll’s family from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
