BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Vera “Pauline” Iler, 84, of Bloomington, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, at her home. Pauline was born Dec. 3, 1940, in Elkton, Kentucky, the daughter of Walton and Mable (Robinson) Tooley.
She married Glendon Iler on Sept. 30, 1960, in Bloomington.
Pauline graduated from Forrest High School, and retired as office manager of Building Safety after 20 years with the City of Bloomington. She was a member of Lakeside Country Club and enjoyed wintering in Biloxi, Mississippi, for many years. Pauline enjoyed spending time and travelling with her granddaughters, especially on their annual two-week summer trips and watching their soccer games and swim meets.
The entire family would like to thank all of the loving caregivers from Synergy Home Care, Carle Eureka Hospital Rehab and Vitas Hospice. A special thanks goes to those who gave special care, including Aggie Hedin, Jessica Harris, Tina Hjerpe, Bri, Amber, Ella, Tatie, Sheniqua, Sandra and all of the other caregivers.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Iler; two brothers, Edward and Bobby Tooley; and a sister, Carolyn (Donald) Lade.
She is survived by her husband, Glen; a daughter, Dusti (Prentice) Kugler, Shorewood, Minnesota; two granddaughters, Rafferty and Hattie Kugler, both of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Jerry (June) Tooley, Phoenix, Arizona, and Jimmy (Kay) Tooley, Valparaiso, Indiana; two sisters, Norene (Harold) Hand, Peoria, and Patty (Randy) Dempsey, The Woodlands, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Her graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Dr. William Ray will officiate. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
