BEAVER DAM, Ky. — James Eugene Keener, 66, of Beaver Dam, passed away Nov. 16, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia, on May 16, 1958, to the late James Dana and Betty Jo Berry Keener.

James was a lifelong mechanic and loved working on vehicles. He loved to dance and would drag anyone that made eye contact onto the dance floor with him. He loved his family dearly, including his beloved dog, Atlee.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by two sisters, Shawana Pillow and Barbara Hamilton.

He is survived by his son, Joshua Keener (Kayla Bailey); daughters, Pamela (Joshua) Probus and Jennifer Keener (Gilbert Stewart); brothers, Dale (Donna) Keener, Johnnie (Debra) Keener; sisters, Scoria (Scottie) Hamilton, Laura (Arvin) Jones, Dana (Wendell) Howard, and Retha Butterworth; grandchildren, Katelyn (Preston) Newman, Shelby Probus, Joshua Probus, Raven (Dylan) Marlow, Sky (Trent) Embry, Logan Willis, Weston Spencer, Annabelle Bailey, and Jake Toomey; and great-grandchildren, Maverick Newman, Remington Newman, Payton Willis, Molley McCormick, Jacelyn Casteel, Zaiden Roebke, and Jessie Keener.

Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 3 p.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. Tim Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, and from 10 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
