HARTFORD, Ky. — Elmer Lee Wright Jr., a member of the community, was called to his eternal rest on Nov. 11, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on May 15, 1936, in Horton, Kentucky, to the late Elmer Lee Wright Sr. and the late Sylvia Mae Schroader Wright.
Elmer Lee Wright honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, earning the rank of Specialist 4th Class before his discharge on Dec. 3, 1957. Following his military service, he worked as a member of the International Union Operators Engineers Local 181 in Henderson, Kentucky.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Elmer was a former Director of the Kentucky Bikers Association.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lee Wright, and a brother, Kenneth Wright.
Elmer was survived by his daughter, Sandy Elliott; son, Henry Wright; and nine grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday, Nov. 16. Funeral services for Elmer will be 12 noon Saturday, Nov. 16, at Hartford Funeral Home. Elmer’s final resting place will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery.
