BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Join us as we celebrate the life and legacy of Mary F. Dotson, a beloved former bus monitor, wife of the late Robert W. “Bob” Dotson, and daughter of the late Ira and Inez Delcina Black Pillow. Mary was born on Dec. 19, 1931, in Waterloo, Iowa, and peacefully passed away on Nov. 2, 2024, in Beaver Dam, surrounded by her loving family.
Throughout her life, Mary touched the hearts of many as she dedicated her days to ensuring the safety and well-being of countless students as a bus monitor for the Ohio County Board of Education. Her kind and caring nature left a lasting impact on all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is also preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Hannah Sickels Tonini.
Mary is survived by her children, Ruth Ann Sickels Hughes (Rod), Jon Mark Sickels (OK Cha), Randy Sickels, Hugh Dotson; as well as her sister, Betty Jean Shaver; brother, Richard D. Pillow; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She will be dearly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.
Memorial Service will be held at Hartford Funeral Home on Nov. 23. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for a memorial service at 10 a.m.
