OWENSBORO, Ky. — Ada Louise Rhinerson Howard, 79, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born March 21, 1945, in Daviess County, Kentucky, to the late Hilary and Phenia Payne Rhinerson.

Ada was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and retired from the General Electric Co. She was an avid U. K. basketball fan, enjoyed going out with her friends to eat, and working crossword puzzles.

Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her two granddaughters and great-grandson.

Ada was also preceded in death by her husband, R. C. Howard, on April 16, 2015; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Champion; and two brothers, Robert and Paul Rhinerson.

Surviving are two sons, Jimmy Edge and Joe Edge (Lisa), all of Owensboro; two granddaughters, Taylor Harris (L. J.) and Chelsea Detty (Cody); a great-grandson, Isaiah “Zae” Detty, all of Owensboro; a sister, Delaine Barker (George), of Owensboro; and a stepson, Brent Howard (Vickie), of Ohio County, Kentucky.

Funeral services for Ada will be at 12 noon Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
