HARTFORD, Ky. — Karen Fisher Boling, 75, of Hartford, passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, at Ohio County Healthcare. Mrs. Boling was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, on June 13, 1949, to the late Ernest and Mildred Fisher.

Karen was an active member of the Ohio County community. She retired as a supervisor with the Kentucky Cabinet of Families and Children. Following retirement she worked for First Kentucky Bank for several years. She and her late husband JT Boling Jr. were active in the Ohio County Fair Board for over 20 years.

Karen was elected to the Ohio County School Board in 2013 and served as an active board member until 2022. Karen served as chair and vice chair for Together We Care for many years.

Karen is preceded in death by her husband, J.T. (Jimmy) Boling Jr.; father, Ernest Fisher; mother, Mildred Fisher; and her sister, Norma Jean Fisher.

She is survived by her two daughters, Shannon Boling Kirtley (Michael), of Hartford, and Melissa Boling Cockerel (David), of Taylorsville, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Brock Kirtley, Jack Kirtley, Caroline Kirtley, Ike Kirtley, Nicholas Cockerel, and Maryanna Cockerel; two sisters, Loretta Bennett, of Owensboro; and Mary Belle Fisher, of Hartford.

Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Joey Minor officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 29, and from 9 a.m. until funeral time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
