BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Brenda Sue Daugherty Dockery, 72, went home to be with Jesus on Oct. 18, 2024, at her home in Beaver Dam, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on Nov. 24, 1951, in Hartford, Kentucky, to the late Fred and Barbara Daugherty.
Brenda was a member of Beaver Dam Covenant Community Church where she loved to worship. She was the city clerk of Beaver Dam where she eventually retired.
She then spent most of the time with her husband and her family. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch on warm days, looking at her pretty flowers and watching her great-grandkids play.
She loved Diet Cokes from Dairy Queen just like her husband Ray did. She was a prayer warrior who loved Jesus and her family more than anything. Her family was her pride and joy.
She will be missed by so many, especially her family. She now has her crown, and she is walking with Jesus.
In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Ray Dockery; one son, Daniel Dockery; three brothers, Jay Daugherty, Jerry Daugherty, and Freddie Ray Daugherty; and two sisters, Mary Burden and Bettie Mitchell.
She leaves behind her son, Robert Paul Dockery (Christel), of Elkmont, Alabama; two granddaughters, Kristi Monroe (Christopher), of Beaver Dam, and Jessica Tovar (Cody), of Elkmont; two grandsons, Paul Dockery, of Beaver Dam, and Austin Scott (Katie), of Wyoming; five great-grandchildren, Kensi Monroe, Conner Monroe, Chasen Monroe, Alea Tovar, and Everett Scott; one sister, Loretta Fowler, of Spring Hill, Tennessee; and one brother, Kenneth Daugherty, of Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Brenda’s service will be Monday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. James Crump officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford.
