OWENSBORO, Ky. — Anna C. Allen, 83, passed away on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro. She was born May 18, 1941, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, to the late Charles Bishop and Madie Lee Rowe Bishop.

Anna retired from Kentron after 44 years where she made lifelong friends. She enjoyed monthly outings with her past co-workers, soap operas, country music, and UK basketball. Although, if you ever asked her, she’d say her greatest joys were her grandbabies.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Leamon E. Allen on May 18, 1987; siblings, Willis Randall Bishop, Edwina Frizzell, Lorena Evans, Oscar D. Bishop, Roy Lee Bishop, Wendell Earl Bishop, Glendell Merle Bishop; and her companion, Thurman Bennett Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Sheila Cobb (Anthony), Tresa Gholson (Terry), and David Allen (Cathy); grandchildren, Brian Nicely, Alex Aud (Denton), Brandon Allen (Whitney), Abbey Tucker (Bryce), Kalen Cobb (Stephanie), Jarrett Allen (Jenna), Andie Bayley (Landon), and Chase Allen (Karlee Millay); and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Anthony Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visitation on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will resume on Friday, Oct. 18, from 12 p.m. until the time of service.
