FORDSVILLE, Ky. — George B. Winchester “Red,” 89, formerly of Fordsville, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, at Ohio County Health Care in Hartford, Kentucky.
He was a pastor/preacher for 57 years spreading the Lord’s word, a retired Caterpillar supervisor of 26 years, an employee of Fordsville Water System for 10 years, and a member of Narrows Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Kathleen Winchester, and a son, James Winchester.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Paula Winchester, of Hartford; his children, George and Kim Winchester, of South Carolina, Teresa Winchester, of Missouri, Krista and Robert Drake, of Olaton, Kentucky, Crystal Seaton, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Kyle and Amanda Seaton, of Louisville; sisters, Juliett Moore and Carolyn Hatcher, of Georgia; grandchildren, Kelly and Rob Bischoff, Ryan Winchester, of Ohio, C.J. Gordon, of Missouri, Jamie Hardin, of Owensboro, Kentucky, Sequoya and Dylan Lee, of Indiana, Conley Wyatt Huff, of Louisville, Morgan and Malerie Huff, of Olaton, Hannah and Eli Warren, of Beaver Dam; and great-grandchildren, Kielen Lee, of Indiana, Ariel and Tucker Gordon, of Missouri, and Benjamin and Abby Bischoff.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m. at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville with burial to follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 27 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
