CENTERTOWN, Ky. — Jewel Myrlene Doyal, 98, of Centertown, completed her earthly journey on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. Jewel was born April 20, 1926, in Beaver Dam, to the late Robert Edward and Myrtle Reid Buck.
Jewel was a faithful member of Centertown Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for approximately 20 years. She worked as a coal miner for Peabody Coal Company for 5-6 years. She was a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star for decades. She was a member of KWBA women’s bowling league playing on The Tuesday Nite-Owls and Morning Glories to name a couple. Jewel was an amazing cook and was very well known for her orange cake which everyone loved.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert Clark Doyal; her brother, Vernon Ed Buck; her sisters, Myrtle Buck Martin and Avril Davonna; and an infant sister.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jim Doyal (Shannon); her grandchildren, Jonathan Doyal (Leah) and Brandi Wilson (Clint); her great-granddaughter, Stormy Doyal; and her daughter by heart, Lana Doyal.
Private graveside services will be held at Centertown Cemetery in Centertown. Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky is in charge of arrangements.
