MORGANTOWN, Ky. — Samuel Keith “Sammy” King, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on Aug. 19, 2024, in Morgantown.

Born on Dec. 16, 1962, Sammy’s life was a testament to the power of family, faith, and community. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. Sammy’s journey began in Morgantown, where he was born to the late John Cephas and Martha Miller King. He was a devoted assistant pastor and member of Trinity Pentecostal Church, where he found great joy in worship and fellowship. His commitment to his faith was evident in everything he did, from his involvement in church activities to his love for visiting other churches.

Sammy’s life was one of service and dedication. He was a man who found solace in the simplicity of nature, whether it was fishing, tending to his bees, cultivating his garden, or simply enjoying the company of his family.

Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were his two grandchildren, Luke and Olivia King, and his siblings, Sarah Schoenborn, Gracie Berry, Lottie Rojas, Arttie Cook, and Jerry King.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brandi Smith King, of Morgantown; his legacy continues through his children, his daughter, Shelia Taylor (Jeremy), of Cromwell, Kentucky; his sons, Brian King, Joel King (Shecka), Mark King (Lyndsie), Jacob King (Wendy Young), Elisha King (Summer), all of Morgantown, and James Wallace, of Cromwell; his 10 grandchildren, Curtis, Victoria, Oliver, Ezra, Amelia, Silas King, Sydney and Jaxon Young, Lilly, and Caden Colgate, brought immense joy to his life, and he adored each moment spent with them. Sammy was a beloved brother to Mildred Reynolds (James) of Morgantown, Sadie Fugate (Bo) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Phillip King, of Roundhill, Kentucky, Andy King, of Bowling Green, and Paul Cephas King (Teresa), of Morgantown. He also leaves behind several stepchildren and step-grandchildren whom he loved as his own, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss his guidance and warmth.

Funeral services will be held at the Trinity Pentecostal Church on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 2 p.m. with Bro. Kenny Cox officiating Burial will be Trinity Pentecostal Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. until funeral time at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Pentecostal Church 1295 Orange Cemetery Road Morgantown, KY 42261.
