BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Talan Chace West, 16, of Bowling Green, passed away Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024. He was born Feb. 2, 2008, in Warren County, Kentucky, to Roxane Payton and Jesse West.
Talan would have started his junior year at Bowling Green High School. He was an avid gamer and enjoyed learning about the history of the military. Talan loved hanging out with his best friends, Lily, Hunter, Eric, and Remi. His dream for after high school graduation was to open an IT firm with Jaron.
He was preceded in death by his Papaw Ronnie West.
Talan leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Roxane Payton, of Bowling Green; father, Jesse (Morgan) West, of Morgantown, Kentucky; brother, Elias McCrystal, of Hartford, Kentucky; big brother at heart, Jaron “J-Bird” Payton-Garrett, of Hartford; grandmothers, Rebecca Herlien-Payton, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Sandy West, of Morgantown; aunts and uncles, Dylan (Jayla) Herlien-Payton, of Beaver Dam, Jesse Herlien-Payton, of Bowling Green, Rochelle Cox, of Hartford, and Ashley (Brent) Lindsey, of Beaver Dam; great-aunts and -uncles, Lisa “LiLi” (Tyson) Payton-Garrett, of Hartford, and Mark (Carolyn) Payton, of Melrose, Massachusetts, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins that loved him very much.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Pastor Mark Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Payton Cemetery in Grayson County. Friends may visit with Talan’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
