LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Willie Raymer, 92, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, in Louisville. He was born on July 17, 1932, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Walter and Elsie Whitehead Raymer.
Willie worked as a die-setter at General Electric for 36 years. After retirement, he enjoyed working on lawnmowers. He was known as the “lawnmower man.” He married Ruby Lindsey Raymer on Aug. 11, 1950, and they raised a loving family together. They were married for 64 years until her death on Dec. 18, 2014.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lindsey Raymer; and five siblings.
He is survived by his children, Peggy Worth (Jerry), Verita Worth (deceased husband, Michael), Pamela Spencer (Roger), Terry Raymer (Ann), Tim Raymer (Debbie), and Tenya Raymer, and 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
