DUNDEE, Ky. — James P. Laws, 86, of Dundee, died Saturday, July 27, 2024, at his home. James was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Oswyn and Dorothy Williams Laws.
James was a retired crane operator from LTV Steel and was a past President of Dundee Fire Department #712. He loved doing community service, watching westerns, spending time with family, and collecting tools.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Laws, and a son, Michael Wayne Laws.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Barbara Crabtree Laws; a son, Jon Laws; a stepdaughter, Patty Boehman; three brothers, Tommy (Brenda) Laws, Billy Laws, David (Elisa) Laws; three sisters, Yvonne (Morris) Dickson, Shirley (Morris) Hancock, Judy (Jack) Stoyell; and three grandsons, four granddaughters, one great-grandson, and two great-granddaughters.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Burial will follow in New Baymus Cemetery in Olaton, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until funeral time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
