BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Helen Darlene Neighbors, 69, of Beaver Dam, passed away July 27, 2024, in Hartford, Kentucky. She was born Aug. 12, 1954, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late John Calvert “Tobe” Whitaker and the late Alma Louse Whitaker “Dunning” and wife of the late Jerry Neighbors.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and the Andy Griffith Show. She was the center of the party. She enjoyed getting her nails fixed and learning the most recent gossip. Most of all, she enjoyed being surrounded by her family, taking care of anyone in need, and sharing her saltwater taffy and Sunkist.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brandy Johnson; siblings, Johnny Whitaker, Bobby Whitaker, Phillip Whitaker “Gene”, Charles Whitaker “Charlie”, Elizabeth Whitaker ”May,” and Dorothy Davis Ferguson.
She is survived by her daughters, Kattie L. Hall, Elaineia Sailing (Ronnie); grandkids, Shay Johnson (Ryan Jones), Brittany Baskin (Aaron Pickett), Collin Baskin, Shelby Lindsey; great-grandkids, Ethan Jones, Keelyn Green, Kinzley Jones, Payton Jones, Rextyn Pickett, Aniyah Jones; siblings, Margaret Johnson, Oather Whitaker, Susie Jones (Denver), Raymond Whitaker (Sheena), Victoria Howard (Rick); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and great-nieces and -nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
