CENTERTOWN, Ky. — Edwina Mae Sheffield, 62, of Centertown, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024, with her family by her side at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born Feb. 8, 1962, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to the late Edwin Randall Sheffield and Bertha Mae Allen Sheffield.
Edwina retired as a principal from Muhlenberg County Job Corps. She received her master’s degree in education from Western Kentucky University.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Edwina leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter at heart, Harley Slack, of Owensboro; brother, Mark (Melony) Sheffield, of Centertown; sister, Kim (Jerry) Vender, of Centertown; nieces and nephews, Matthew (Christy) Sheffield, Toby Sheffield, Eric (Sara) Vender, Ashley (Garrett) Beasley, and Josh Vender; as well as several great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Lonestar Cemetery in Centertown with Bro. Scotty Fleener officiating. Friends may visit Edwina’s family from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam.
