BEDA, Ky. — David Arrel Himes, 67, passed away at his home in Beda on Friday, July 19, 2024. He was born in San Diego, California to Arrel Roe Himes and Patricia Minton Himes on April 26, 1957.
David spent many years of his life serving his community in law enforcement, EMS, and Fire Service. He was Chief of Cromwell Fire Department and was the 3rd District Constable.
David loved to tease and joke with people and had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting and fishing all of his life and had a knack for fixing anything. He was an avid gun collector and loved target shooting and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Chaunta Gamble Himes, and his grandson, Dalton Lee Chinn.
He has a son, Joseph David Himes, and a daughter Amber Himes Chinn(Scott Chinn). He leaves behind four grandchildren, Gracie Chinn, and Emily, Kyle, and Tyler Himes. David has one brother, Mark Himes, two sisters Shannon Ashby, and Theresa Watkins (deceased).
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Kentucky. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time on Wednesday.
