HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — Mildred L. Daugherty, 85, formerly of Horse Branch, passed away on July 11, 2024, in Owensboro, Kentucky. Mildred Daugherty was born on March 23, 1939, in Horse Branch, to the late Story Daugherty and the late Mary Carter Stewart.
Mildred is best known for taking care of her family by canning things she had raised in her garden. Her life revolved around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Milford Bratcher and Ira Daugherty; a daughter, Mary Roseanna Evans; daughter-in-law, Flora Mae Bratcher; sister, Judy Geary; and brother, Orbin Bratcher.
Mildred is survived by her three children, Donald Ray Bratcher (Flora Mae), Clarence William Bratcher (Kathy), Stoy Lee Bratcher; half-brother, W.H. Bratcher; half-sister, Alvina Stewart; and 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The service for Mildred Daugherty will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Hartford Funeral Home with burial following in the Rosine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, July 15, and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Hartford Funeral Home.
