REYNOLDS STATION, Ky. — David J. Tierney, 66, of Reynolds Station went to be with Jesus his Savior, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
David retired from Owensboro Grain and attended Owensboro Christian Church. He served his community in many ways, Whitesville Fire Department (Firefighter/EMT), Whitesville Lions Club, Ohio County Ambulance Service, Ohio County Sheriffs Department, and various church activities.
He enjoyed spending time with family, spoiling and picking on the grandkids, UK basketball, watching Andy Griffith shows, and chocolate. David graduated from Fordsville High School and played varsity basketball. He was thankful for freedom and being an American and for all his care team.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and Georgia Tierney Crowe; his sister, Donna Rice; and angel baby, Heather Tierney.
He is survived by his wife Nelda Tierney; his daughter, Janel Tierney; son, Jansen (Jessica) Tierney; grandchildren of whom he was so proud, Brayden, Carter, Addison, Ava, Braxten, Bralynn, Brycen, and Willow; and his cousins and a slew of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday with visitation 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cecil Funeral Home, Whitesville Kentucky. Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery.
