Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Anyone who knew Barbara recognized that her life revolved around her family, as she found boundless joy in the individuality of each child and grandchild. Barbara also found great satisfaction as a Licensed Practical Nurse and dedicated herself to ensuring each patient was treated respectfully and provided the best medical care possible. Her nursing career found her employed at the Twin Rivers Nursing Home and later at the Fordsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Barbara enjoyed gardening, tending to her blackberry patch, and nurturing her seasonal hummingbirds each year. Another passion that Barbara immersed herself in was making beautiful crafts, special holiday and seasonal wreaths, floral arrangements, dresses, hairbows, etc. She loved making crafts that others would cherish and appreciate. After this hobby consumed her house, Barbara rented a booth to sell her items at the Whitesville Mercantile. She had a following and many patrons would come specifically to purchase her items.

Barbara was also preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Sue Burns Mayfield (1953-2016).

Barbara is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 47 years, James Parmer Hunt; one son, James Steven (Ruth) Hunt, of Owensboro, Kentucky; one daughter, Christina “Crissi” Lane Hunt, of Pleasant Ridge; and eight grandchildren: Jaden, Torrance “Tori” (Sean), Callie, Karlie, Ketch, Clayton, Aria, and James. She is also survived by her loving sister, Anna Lois (Dariel) Burns McGehee.

Barbara and Lois loved spending time together, talking and reminiscing about their childhood and family. Both found great love and joy in their relationship.
