HARTFORD, Ky. — The Ohio County Water District issued a Boil Water Advisory for its customers in the areas of Prentiss Road between Cool Springs Road and Patterson Road, Carolyn Ln., Prentiss Ln., and Burgess Ln.

According to the OCWD, distribution crews are made an emergency repair on a water main along Prentiss Road between Cool Springs and Patterson Rd. A boil water advisory was issued out of precaution for around 50 customers in the area of Prentiss Road between Cool Springs Road and Patterson Road, Carolyn Ln., Prentiss Ln., and Burgess Ln.

When the OCWD experiences pressure drops below 20 psi, its system becomes vulnerable to bacteria from groundwater or dirt seeping into the pipe and affecting the water supply. That is why the OCWD issues a boil water advisory for a water main break.

The Boil Water Advisory has now been lifted.
