MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Northbound Interstate 165 near the 69.5-mile point in Daviess County is closed following a crash involving a commercial vehicle hauling molten aluminum. Both the northbound lanes and the southbound fast lane are closed.
The crash happened at the Fairview Drive overpass.
This is expected to be a lengthy closure due to the nature of the materials being handled. At 5 a.m., the Kentucky State Police estimated it would be at least 6 to 10 hours before the road can reopen.
Motorists traveling northbound from Ohio to Daviess County are advised to begin immediately detouring via U.S. 231.
