OWENSBORO, Ky. — Wendell L. Baize, 77, of Owensboro, died June 16, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born Nov. 20, 1946, to the late Opal Baize and Mabel Kelley Baize.
He enjoyed camping and fishing with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Zonia Carmen, Billy Baize, Jimmy C. Baize, Dennis Baize, and Emily McDaniel, and a grandchild, Kevin Baize.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Baize; children, Wendell Baize Jr. (Chastity Ross) and Tonya Baize (Troy Holloway); grandchildren, Bridgette (Matt) Knapp, Taylor (Atlanta) Baize, Sophia Hicks, Wendy Angelica Baize, Starla Baize, Blake Thompson, and Bianca Baize; great-grandchildren, Aleah Baize, Kentley Clemons Baize, Skyler Knapp, Brentlee Simonds, Alexander Baize-Taylor, Caroline Willis, Jaylee Baize, Amora Baize, Jayden Knapp, and Kingston Lowery; and his siblings, Roy Baize, Patsy Galloway, Ruby Vincent, and Marcella Nesmith.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 22, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. The service will begin at 2 p.m. with Bro. Terry Tarrance officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.
