OWENSBORO, Ky. — Charles R. Chappell, 72, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024, at his home. He was born Nov. 19, 1951, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, to the late Otis Lee and Myrl Jeanette Chappell.
Charles was a U.S. Army veteran. He loved his family, playing the guitar, and loved to write and sing music.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Szymanski.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Christopher Lee Chappell (Renee) and Robinn Ray Chappell (Brandi), both of Owensboro; daughter, Sherri Chappell Martinez, of Owensboro; five sisters, Rose Horn, of Owensboro, Sheila Johnson, of Fordsville, Kentucky, Marsha Dudik, of Arizona, Cindy Calahan, of Rockport, Indiana, and Kathy Rose, of Owensboro; brothers, Kenneth Chappell, of Blountzville, Florida, and Ricky Chappell, of Rome, Kentucky; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
