OLATON, Ky. — Phillip Wayne Crowder, 79, of Olaton, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on May 27, 2024. He was born Nov. 8, 1944, in Hartford, to the late Ezra Kenneth Crowder and the late Mary Virginia Raley Crowder.

The Ohio County, Kentucky, native retired as a farmer. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Olaton. Phillip enjoyed working in tobacco, hay, and with his cattle. He had many “You’re my favorite,” and treasured his family and close friendships.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia Lynn Renfrow Crowder, in 1993; his second wife, Suzanne Graham Harwood Crowder, in 2014; a sister, Sharon Gilburd; a stepbrother, Don Eddy Ramsey (Betty Sue); and stepmother, Gertrude Ramsey Crowder.

His survivors include two daughters, Julie Nance and Anita Bowlds (Marty), of Olaton; one stepson, Donald Harwood (Shelley), of Owensboro, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Emma Gillim (Derrick), Drake Bowlds (Jessica), Caroline Tomlin (Alex), Tanner Bowlds, Josh Harwood, Jessie Harwood, and Cody Harwood; five great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Owen, Cole, Eli, and Eleanor; one brother, Steve Crowder (Gerry), of Olaton; one sister, Teresa Wright, of South Carolina; two stepsisters, Sheila Collins, of Hartford, Kentucky, and Marketta Daugherty (Elmer), of Horse Branch, Kentucky; a brother-in-law, David Gilburd, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and many special nieces and nephews.

We welcome family and friends for visitation on Wednesday, May 29, from 4  p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday, May 30, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Hartford Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 30, with Pastor Marty Bowlds officiating. Burial to follow at Fairview Baptist Church in Olaton.
