OWENSBORO, Ky. — Janice Puckett, 76, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Wellington Parc. She was born Nov. 20, 1947, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Gordon and Ethel Bartlett Rhoades.
Janice was retired from Wyndall’s Foodland as a bookkeeper and was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church. She had volunteered at a number of places including the Clothes Closet at Owensboro Christian Church. Janice was an avid U.K. basketball fan and was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
Janice was also preceded in death by her husband, David Puckett, on Jan. 9, 2004, and a grandson, Clay Maxwell Rhoades, in 1999.
Surviving are a son, Scott Rhoades (Leah), of Lewisport, Kentucky; stepchildren, Tony Riney (Lyn), of Ohio County, and Amy Puckett, of Bardstown, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Clint Rhoades, of Owensboro, Kentucky, Parker and Isaac Rhoades, of Lewisport; two step-grandchildren, Portia Lansdown, of Louisville, Kentucky, and Celeste Duncan-Shacklette, of Indianapolis, Indiana; and two sisters, Karen Pickerill (Perry), of Owensboro, and Kim Campbell, of Evansville, Indiana.
The funeral service for Janice will be at 12 noon on Saturday, May 4, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
