ROCHESTER, Ky. — Stephen D. Chapman, 75, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024, at Ohio County Healthcare. He was born in Ohio County, Kentucky, on March 10, 1949, the son of the late Otis G. and Wilda J. Simpson Chapman.
Steve was a 1967 graduate of Ohio County High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and woodworking.
He had worked for Peabody Coal Company most of his career. He was general superintendent at Colony Bay Coal Company.
Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Heflin (Allen); son, Chad Chapman (Kim); and grandchildren, Cody Heflin, Colby Chapman, and Collin Chapman.
There will be private graveside services at a later date. Bevil Bros. Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
