HARTFORD, Ky. — Doris J. Davis, of Hartford, passed away at the age of 95 at Signature Healthcare of Hartford. She was born to the late Walter Blaine Campbell and Ira Shown Campbell in Hartford and lived most of her life in Ohio County, Kentucky.
She was retired from Ohio County High School Cafeteria and a member of Hartford Methodist Church.
She was a 50-year member of Lizzie Ford Chapter #112 Order of Eastern Star. Held offices of Worthy Matron, held several other offices and enjoyed going to Grand Chapter. Loved doing hand stitching, sewing, working in her flower beds, lawn work, and puzzle books when she was able.
She was preceded in death by husband, William B. Davis, Jr.; son, Larry E. Davis; and son-in-law, Lonnie Brooks Jr.; her parents, and was the last living sibling of Campbell family.
She is survived by daughters, Anna D. Brooks (the late Lonnie Brooks Jr.), of Pleasant Ridge, Kentucky; Betty Sheffield (Ron), of Vine Grove, Kentucky; son, James G. Davis (Sonja), of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and two fur babies, Mickey and Dickey.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Hartford Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Hartford Funeral Home with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery.
