Gov. Beshear Orders Flags to Half-Staff Saturday in Honor of Winchester Police Officer

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear has ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Saturday, April 20, in honor of a Winchester police officer who suffered a medical emergency and died following an arrest.

William “Marty” Jackson, 73, former chief and current sergeant with the Winchester Police Department died Sunday, April 14, when he had a heart attack after responding to a call.

Funeral services will be held at noon EDT Saturday at George Rogers Clark High School. Interment will follow at the Winchester Cemetery.
