HARTFORD, Ky. — The Ohio County Water District issued a Boil Water Advisory for about 85 customers in the following areas:
KY 69 N from the intersection of KY 878 north, all customers in Dundee, and customers along Boswell Road.
OCWD distribution crews made an emergency repair on a 6″ water main along KY 69 N near KY 878. A contractor hit the waterline line while doing excavation work shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 17.

When the OCWD experiences pressure drops below 20 psi, its system becomes vulnerable to bacteria from groundwater or dirt seeping into the pipe and affecting the water supply. Because of this, the OCWD issued a Boil Water Advisory during a water main break.
As a precautionary measure, all water used for drinking or food preparation should be brought to a rolling boil for three minutes. This advisory has been issued out of caution, and affected customers will be notified when it is lifted.
Customers of the OCWD with additional questions can contact the office at 270-298-7704.
