Shoulder restrictions on eastbound lanes of the WK Parkway Friday

MADISONVILLE, Ky. — There will be a shoulder restriction in place on the Western Kentucky Parkway in Ohio County beginning at 7:30 a.m. Friday, April 12, as the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet looks to clear a blocked culvert that is causing localized flooding.

During the project, KYTC will close the eastbound shoulder of the parkway at the 77.1-mile marker to give workers and equipment room to remove a blockage at a culvert under the Western Kentucky Parkway.

The closure will be where the on-ramp from I-165 northbound merges with the eastbound lane of the Western Kentucky Parkway. All work will be completed away from the flow of traffic, but KYTC crews will be on or near the shoulder with vehicles and equipment during the project. Work should be completed by the end of the day.

Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment and personnel are along the roadway close to traffic flow.
