LEXINGTON, Ky. — Dakoda James “DJ” Evans, 30, of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Horse Branch, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in Lexington. He was born March 7, 1994, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to Michael Evans and Michele Maiden Panchisin.
DJ worked as an auto mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Michael Maiden.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory include his son, Mason Evans, of Morgantown, Kentucky; mother, Michele Maiden Panchisin, of Lexington; father, Michael (Michelle) Evans, of Kuttawa, Kentucky; maternal grandmother, Patricia “Patty” Maiden, of Lexington; paternal grandmother, Vickie (Mike) Autry, of Horse Branch; paternal grandfather, James Evans, of Cromwell, Kentucky; six siblings, Kyle (Robin) Fields, of Morgantown, Joe (Haley) Fields, of Lexington, Gabriel Messamore, Kallista Messamore, and David Messamore, all of Kuttawa, and Candace (Misty) Heflin, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; nephew, Alex Fields, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; and niece, Lexi Heflin, of Beaver Dam; uncle, Tim (Crystal) Evans, of Beaver Dam; and cousins, Addison, Abe, and Acts Evans, of Beaver Dam; and mother of his son, Chasity (Aaron) Whittaker, of Morgantown.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 15, at William L, Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Glendon Geary officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery in Horse Branch. Friends may visit with DJ’s family from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
